got a bunch of stuff going on today:

• updated our Scrubs blog now that Season 9 is in full swing – not what we were lead to believe, but still pretty good
• updated our Family Guy blog; we found a clip that we think makes our case FOR old Family Guy episodes and AGAINST new ones
• updated our Pearl Jam blog; can you understand what Eddie Vedder is saying?  we found a good YouTube that deciphers the lyrics to “Yellow Ledbetter”

we reading about some stuff that happened on Dec 12 on Wikipedia throughout history.  Here are the two we thought were the most notable:

1941 – At a meeting with the highest ranking officials of the Nazi party in the Reich Chancellery, Adolf Hitler declared the imminent destruction of the Jewish race.

2000 – The U.S. Supreme Court delivered its controversial 5–4 decision in Bush v. Gore, ordering the election recount of the ballots cast in Florida for the 2000 presidential election to stop, which effectively ended the election in favor of George W. Bush

Huh.  Those both happened on the same day some 60 years apart, huh?  Guess its a dark day in history, huh?  There were probably some lighter or more positive events on Dec 12, but those two really stick out like a sore thumb, you know?

So, Scrubs is coming back in December, but with an all new format, lots of new intern cast members and no Zach Braff. Its easy to understand why someone doesn’t want to keep doing the same show for 8 years, so we’ll give Braff a past. The parade is today, November 6th, at 11 AM, starting at Battery Place at 11 a.m., and heading north up the Canyon of Heroes, and ending at City Hall Plaza, where there will be some speeches and the Yankees will get the key to the city.

remember when the kids in your class came to school as Jason, the killer from the Friday the 13th movie serial, brandishing a plastic, red paint splattered butcher knife? Or Freddy Kreuger, complete with mask and razor glove? It sounds like those days are over. Usually, we’re against the overly sensitive rules society puts in place, like the participation trophy, but, maybe this isn’t such a bad idea. do we really need the kids to go to school with fake blood and pretend cutlery so they can play imaginary dismemberment?

First, we’ll recap games 1 & 2 of the 2009 World Series between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies
Game 1: CC Sabathia was good, despite struggling with his control, but Cliff Lee was genius. You also have to give a big tip of the hat to chase utley for his 2 homers off Sabathia. Sabthia, as mentioned, had issues with his control, but it didn’t help Utley’s teammates him off him.
Game 2: AJ Burnett delivered, despite people’s misgivings. Pedro Martinez was surprisingly good, but Burnett was better. Joe Girardi pushed all the right buttons.
Games 3 & 4: Cole Hamels, who was last year’s World Series MVP, has not been the same guy this year. The Yankees have to be pumped that the Phillies are starting Joe Blanton in Game 4 instead of Cliff Lee on short rest.
