yankees and new york city sued by fan
April 18, 2009 by mytristateA man was ejected from an August 26 Yankees vs Red Sox game when he attempted to leave his seat during the playing of God Bless America to use the bathroom. His lawsuit says that when he tried to pass a police officer, the officer grabbed his right arm, twisted it behind his back and two officers marched him out of the stadium and apparently said that he leave the country if he wasn’t a fan of God Bless America. New York’s 92.3 K-Rock is no more
March 11, 2009 by mytristateAs of 5 p.m. EST Wednesday, March 11th, 2009, New York’s 92.3 K-Rock will change formats again, this time to a TOP 40 format, putting them in direct competition with Z100 – yep, New York City doesn’t have much in the way of rock stations these days. So, get ready for WNOW, the new 92.3, playing the exact same top 40 crap as they’re already been playing on Z100. Read more about the K-Rock demise on our radio blog here.

Manny Ramirez rejects Dodgers latest offer
February 28, 2009 by mytristateWhile Manny Ramirez continues to make the right business decisions, he keeps making the wrong baseball decision. Yes, we understand now that Manny refused the new 2 year $45 million offer because the money was deferred, and we understand that its a poor business decision to accept a deal under those conditions, but this isn’t helping his baseball situation. While baseball is flush with cash from the 2008 season’s unprecedented revenues, owners and GMs alike our hedging their bets and not spending as much – not to mention Manny is a major pain in the backside even when he’s relatively happy. We wrote more about Manny’s latest episode in the tragic saga of “Manny Ramirez: I listened to my agent and it screwed me” on our our Sports Blog, which can be found here.

All of our main topic sub directories, like our blogs on the Yankees, Politics, and Movie Reviews have been updated to our new format – we’re loving the include files that hosts the navigation for the site. We’re also making strides on getting the structure set for our TV Reviews and Video Game Reviews blogs with our Book blogs and Leisure Sports blogs like Bowling waiting in the wings! We’re going to roll out lots of new content between now and May, so drop by! We’ve got something for everybody! the reader may win best picture
February 21, 2009 by mytristateIt comes as no surprise to us that The Reader has been nominated for Best Picture. We really enjoyed it and wrote about it in our Movie Reviews Blog. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out – you’ll enjoy it. Kate Winslet is really great, we think she’ll win best actress in a leading roll, because she FRIGGIN RULES IN THIS MOVIE. We wrote a few spoilers about it when we reviewed The Reader, but if check out review, you’ll have to highlight that part of the page to read anything that will spoil the movie for you.
